Literature Text

There's a jungle on my floor
And an ocean on my bed
No longer can I find the door
Time for my monsters to be fed

Another storm on my table
A little earthquake in the closet
So the grounds become unstable
Time's up for me - the rules are set

Walls shiver quivering waves
Thoughts, dreams cover space
Windows blur with cumulus caves
As billowing blinds paint a face

Life and wonder clash at bay
Beating breath be upon my soul
My drawers prey to slow decay
Escape, as is my every goal
I couldn't think of a title to really capture what I wanted to express.

On a random side note: I really had fun writing this (: Even though I haven't written much poetry lately - much of which I don't even like - I'm a bit proud. (: I hope you like it! And I'd be really grateful for critiques or comments (:

Is it a bad thing that I imagined you sitting in your room (which looks like a jungle) looking like a female Chuck from Castaway? :icongrinstareplz:

The rhyme for the most part is nice, but this part seemed a bit forced:
Time’s up for me – the rules are set.
If we're sticking with your style throughout the rest of the poem then it seems out of place, because it doesn't sound too well with "set." Or maybe I just pronounce "closet" in a really weird way. :XD:
