Like many others, I tend to leave a lot of leftovers. Normally they just sit and wait in fridges until they get eaten or go bad. But my leftovers always disappear over night. And as staying awake never worked for me I had to use other methods of finding out what was happening.
So I put up cameras once, but the battery ran out just around 2:30am. I also set traps, all kinds of traps. But, nothing. In time, I gave up and focused on more important things.

Yesterday was a very rainy day and all the dirt on the streets turned into mud. I made sure not to make any marks with my shoes when I came home, but this morning I found that those who steal my food aren’t as cleanly.
It took me half an hour to get rid of all the tiny mud footprints that led from my window to my fridge. The day after, I find another trail. Apparently tiny people live in my garden – right between my lavender bushes and my tomatoes. I think they take care of it when I don’t find the time to. But they do need food, and instead of raiding my garden, they find my leftovers more rewarding.

I’ve never met them, but I’ve become very fond of them. Nowadays I sometimes look over to my garden, smile and say: I hope you guys like lasagne, because I have some leftovers.
Tremendous fun writing this silly doodle. Sometimes stories don't have to be very deep and meaningful - sometimes they're just fun.
